The manufacturing of Cold Rolled (CR) coils is carried out using the rolling (metalworking) processes. For CR coils, the temperature of the steel is maintained below its re-crystallization temperature (usually room temperature). After the steel is melted below its re-crystallization temperature, it is passed through pairs of rolls (between the small gaps) to reduce its thickness and achieve uniformity. This process of manufacturing CR coils is termed as ‘cold rolling’

With Cold Rolling its thickness is reduced to precise gauges. CR Sheets are available in sheets and coils.
